Event description

Description

Global citizenship refers to a connection to not only one’s city, state, or country, but to the world at large. As our communities become increasingly globalized, African American children and young adults must have access to opportunities for global citizenship education.

Our workshop will provide discussion on what global citizenship means, the importance of global citizenship education, and ways that African American children and young adults can be exposed to social consciousness, cross-cultural exchange and international relationship building, all of which are aspects of global citizenship.
Pre-registration is strongly encouraged, but not required for attendance.

The 821 Project first did this presentation at the 47th Annual National Black Child Development Institute Conference in Atlanta, Georgia.
