Global Azure Bootcamp 2019 - Mumbai

Global Azure Bootcamp 2019 is being held on 27th April across a whopping 223 locations worldwide and join आमची Mumbai's official Azure meetup group for a full (and funfilled :-) day to learn, share from the best minds from Microsoft, experts and community leaders on Azure!

The theme for Global Azure Bootcamp 2019 is Cloud for All. We are committed to the democratization of knowledge and opportunities, to diversity and inclusion. We have two workshops primarily for beginners ( students, newbies, folks looking to take up coding as a career etc); we invite and encourage everyone to apply.

This is a bootcamp, no keynotes... we are going to plunge headlong into two back to back workshop. But before that... did we mention fun...you bet !!!.

Global Racing Lab:

The GAB Racing Game Lab will bring together the attendees of the Global Bootcamp locations around the world to cooperate and compete in a 3D driving game using Azure for back-end game services. The game allows players to drive laps, score points, and unlock achievements for their country as they compete to set the fastest lap times on the three tracks in the game. Oh you can race in human or AI mode [ aka driverless :-)]

Science Lab:

This year, we are literally aiming for the stars. Create your own Azure deployment where we use the "cloud" to search "space" itself to find exoplanets.

You can play these labs through out the event.....and at the end of the day there will be exciting prizes for leaders :-)

Title: iPaaS Ecosystem on Azure [Talk + workshop]

In Cloud era, enterprises are looking for Digital Transformation where they can leverage power of cloud technology and connect with their existing distributed services to gain the best of out of it.

Microsoft provides iPaaS Ecosystem in Azure to establish connection with distributed services in cloud or on on-premises services. Azure provides different services which enables enterprises to design complex solution in simplified manner and integrate application, data and process layers which each other.

In this session we are going to comprehend about Azure Logic Apps, Azure API Management, Azure Service Bus and Azure Functions. The combination of these technologies together provides a fully-managed Integration Platform as a Service (iPaaS).

Speaker: Jigar Pathak

Currently he is working at Capgemini as a Cloud Solution Architect on Azure. His role and responsibilities are providing solution to client, RFPs and client orals, getting resources trained on Microsoft Azure and make sure to get certified on Azure.

In last 14+ years, he has trained more than 2000+ professionals across the globe via classroom or virtual session. Professionals trained includes Microsoft Russia, Microsoft Global partners, Infosys, Accenture, Wipro, TCS etc. Delivered Azure certification training under women empowerment program at Saudi Arabia. Program organized by Aramco and Akriti to get trained on multiple cloud based technologies and get resources deployed on project.

Session: How Azure is helping BFSI reinvent themselves

BFSI sector is one of the most highly regulated industry while at the same time is also poised for large-scale digital transformation. Mumbai, being the financial powerhouse of the country, in this session we will understand the cloud technology forays made by this sector in India & globally including Machine learning, AI, RPA, blockchain, control plane etc. and we will study real life customer use cases that Microsoft has been working on to bring on this transformation.

Bio: Gandhali leads the Software Engineering team focusing on Financial Services domain from Commercial S/W Engineering group at Microsoft. With over 17+ year’s experience in IT, Gandhali has worked with several MNC's in India and abroad. Session: Deep dive with Azure Cosmos DB - Hands on workshop.

This is a deep dive intense technical hands-on session where all the attendees will be experimenting with Azure Cosmos DB on a use case. We recommend to Bring Your Own Use Case (BYOWC) style, so that attendees will get working POC at the end of this session.

Brij is a Sr. Software Engineer with Microsoft. Brij has a decade worth of experience in both Microsoft technologies as well as over the open source technologies. Brij has architected Highly scalable andreliable solutions using Open source technologies. Brij Likes to watch Movies and is a fan of Game of thrones and Indian Mythology.

Session: Traceable and safe deployments to Kubernetes using CI/CD pipelines

Abstract: The talk will focus on setting up build and release pipelines for Kubernetes. Annotation based traceability is demonstrated during the talk to emphasise on how end-to-end traceability information about the build and release pipelines can be added on to the Kubernetes objects being deployed. The talk will also showcase canary deployment strategy for Kubernetes and how the same can be used hand-in-hand with metric providers such as Prometheus to resume/reject a deployment based on the health and performance of the canary workload as compared to the baseline.

Bio:

Sumiran is a dev in Azure DevOps Organization. Her primary focus in the past year has been on function and container based deployment support by Azure. A graduate from IIT BHU, she loves travelling and exploring new cuisines.

Aditi Maheshwari hails from the Pink City Jaipur and is currently working at Microsoft as a Program Manager in Azure Devops. Aditi started as a MACH after graduating as a Computer Science Engineer and worked as Consultant prior PM. She loves writing, exploring places, playing violin and is always ready to take up challenges as they come!
