Event description

The Global AI Night is a free evening event organized by 92 communities all over the world that are passionate about Artificial Intelligence on the Microsoft Azure.

During this AI Night you will get inspired through sessions and get your hands dirty during the workshops. By the end of the night you will be able to infuse AI into your applications.

General information

In Wrocław we would like to invite you to the Objectivity office.

More details

This time we will have the proposition of two tracks for you:

Beginner Track - Get started quickly with AI with low to no code

Conducted by: Michał Jankowski

Part 1 - Creating applications that can see, hear, speak or understand - using Microsoft Cognitive Services (1 hour)

In this workshop you will be introduced to the Microsoft Azure Cognitive Services, a range of offerings you can use to infuse intelligence and machine learning into your applications without needing to build the code from scratch. We will cover pre-trained AI APIs, such as computer vision and text analytics, that are accessed by REST protocol. nEXT we will dive into Custom AI that uses transfer learning - Microsoft Azure Custom Vision. This enables you to provide a small amount of your own data to train an image classification model. Wrapping the workshop up by building our custom trained AI into an application - using Logic Apps, this technology is ideal for building data pipeline processes that work with your machine learning models.

Part 2 - Is that wine good or bad? A beginner tutorial on how to build a binary classification machine learning model with no code using Azure Machine Learning Visual Interface (1 hour)

In this workshop you will be introduced to the data science process for building custom machine learning models using Azure Machine Learning Visual Interface. We will cover how to find, import, and prepare data, selecting a machine learning algorithm, training and testing the model, and how to deploy a complete model to an API. Lastly we will discuss some common data science beginner gotchas and provide additional resources to continue your machine learning journey!

Intermediate Track

Conducted by: Michał Górnik

Part 1 - Learn how to train high accuracy machine learning models using automated machine learning (1 hour)

Intelligent experiences powered by AI can seem like magic to users. Developing them, however, is cumbersome involving a series of sequential and interconnected decisions along the way that are pretty time consuming. What if there was an automated service that identifies the best machine learning pipelines for a given problem/data? Automated machine learning does exactly that! Learn how to quickly and efficiently build high accuracy ml models for classification, regression and forecasting scenarios using code and code-free pathways.

Part 2 - Crash course on building and accelerating deep learning solutions (1 hour)

Learn the end to end process of building deep learning solutions from experimentation to deployment. We will start by experimenting locally with different model architectures and hyperparameters using PyTorch. Then, we’ll show you how to use Azure Machine Learning service to train models at massive scale in the cloud and seamlessly deploy them into production. Track

Conducted by: Paweł Klimczyk

Part 1 - Introduction to ML.NET 1.0 (1 hour)

During this workshop you will be introduced to the ML.NET 1.0. ML.NET is an open-source and cross-platform machine learning framework for .NET developers. Using ML.NET, developers can leverage their existing tools and skillsets to develop and infuse custom AI into their applications by creating custom machine learning models for common scenarios like Sentiment Analysis, Recommendation, Image Classification and more. Code examples are in C# and run in Visual Studio Community 2019.

Part 2 - Introduction to AutoML with ML.NET 1.0 (1 hour)

During this workshop you will be introduced to the AutoML. “Automated ML” automates feature engineering, algorithm and hyperparameter selection to find the best model for your data. Code examples are in C# and run in Visual Studio Community 2019.

How we will work

We will start with a short video and then we will decide how we will work. We will be able to conduct two separate concurrent workshops, do everything in one track or even select only part of it.
As usual, the most important one is to have fun.

We want to start our workshop at 19:00, so if it is possible, please be 10-15 minuter earlier.

About us

Michał Jankowski

An architect, designer, sometimes a developer and Microsoft MVP for Azure. He began programming over twenty years ago starting from Basic and Assembler for 8-bit computers. For over fifteen years, he has been creating applications working on a .net platform for the world’s largest companies. Currently, he is specialising in the Microsoft Azure, especially in serverless components.
A great enthusiast of software craftsmanship, unit testing, software design and other topics related to software development. He is also a regular speaker at conferences and user groups.
In his free time, when he is not playing with the code, he likes travelling, photography and writing a technical blog (

Paweł Klimczyk

He is an experienced software engineer working with C# ever since the .NET platform was created. Being passionate about new technologies. He has been researching new techniques in software quality and code maintenance. Since 2017 he has been Microsoft MVP.
For years he has been helping the growing .NET community in Poland by managing the WrocNET group and administering the NET Developers Poland group on Facebook, as well as organizing various other IT initiatives in Poland. He is an a occasional conference speaker, coach and mentor.
Apart from IT, he belongs to such organizations as: PTI, MENSA and ITCorner. He reads over 50 books annualy.
He founded the Gemotial software company, which leverage his team's knowhow and experience to build solid, stable and beautiful software in .NET.
He writes posts at and tweets as @pwlklm

Michał Górnik

A data scientist that wants to apply machine learning everywhere it gives benefits. Works with passion to find a story that every dataset tells. An enthusiast of deep learning applications, especially in computer vision. After hours he gives classes related to statistics, data analysis and machine learning at Wrocław University of Economics. He is team leader of one of the Data Science team at Objectivity

During free time he plays squash and constantly tries to cook the perfect pad thai. A fan of escape rooms and board games.
