Event description

Description

Join Evergreen Museum & Library for a special day trip to Glenstone Museum. Located in Potomac, Maryland, this private museum—open by appointment only—houses the modern and contemporary art collection of billionaire industrialist Mitchell P. Rales and his wife, Emily Wei Rales. The museum opened as a single building on 100 acres in 2006 but just completed a major renovation that more than doubled the campus' acreage and quintupled the museum's gallery space. Throughout its campus, Glenstone features more than 1,300 works by post-WWII masters including Willem de Kooning, Jackson Pollock, Jasper Johns, Mark Rothko, Cy Twombly, Alexander Calder, and Ruth Asawa. Come explore this unique museum that the Washington Post calls "quietly spectacular."

The price includes roundtrip transportation, admission, and lunch at Normandie Farm Restaurant.

The bus will depart promptly from Evergreen Museum & Library at 9 a.m. and return by 4:30 p.m. (traffic may affect these times). Attendees are encouraged to wear comfortable shoes as walking will be required.
