Event Details

Glen Phillips started Toad the Wet Sprocket in 1986, when he was still in high school. He was as surprised as anyone when their low-key folk rock landed them on the pop charts. When the band members temporarily decided to go their separate ways, Phillips began a solo career by releasing Abulum followed by Winter Pays for Summer, Unlucky Seven, Mr. Lemons, and Secrets of the New Explorers.

Always open to new projects and unlikely collaborations, he’s toured and recorded with Works Progress Administration (WPA), Mutual Admiration Society, and Plover.  He since reunited with Toad to record New Constellation.  His current acoustic tour supports his most recent solo album, Swallowed by the New.

  • “I enjoy the spontaneity of acoustic performance, where I can take the show wherever it needs to go and follow the lead of an audience instead of following a set list. There’s more talking, more stories, and more of a loose feel. The subject matter is on the serious side, but I feel like the perspective is ultimately positive. Life is about changes, no matter how we may try and pretend otherwise. This album is all about learning how to face change.” - Glen

DOORS OPEN AT 7 PM.  The show will start at 8 pm.  Seating is limited and first come, first served.  This show will likely be standing room only, so arrive early if you desire seating.  Please enter through the fenced parking lot on Walnut Street, and head for the outdoor seating area behind the building.  The main door will be there.

Yellow Cab Tavern is an emerging community art space. Formerly home to a taxi business for more than 40 years, it now hosts a variety of events including food truck rallies, art shows, concerts, and much more... a truly unique space in Downtown Dayton!   The bar has a great selection of local craft beer and other drinks.

Free parking is available in the fenced lot behind the Yellow Cab Tavern building, entering from Walnut Street, or on the surrounding streets, where permitted.  The building is within walking distance from the historic Oregon District.  Enjoy an early meal before the show.

$20 advance or $25 day of show. Tickets are non-refundable, except in the unlikely event that the concert is cancelled. This event may sell out, so don't wait!
