Description

Tuesdays, December 5 and December 19 (two-part workshop)
6:30 pm–9 pm each day

Inspired by the exhibition Bodies in Water, join artist Emily Bhargava for this two-session intensive workshop to make a water-inspired mosaic. Techniques and short demonstrations will include glass cutting, glass on glass mosaic, contrasting warm and cool colors, suggesting water through the use of pebbles and shells, and incorporating mirror into mosaic.

All are welcome! No mosaic experience necessary.

All materials will be provided.

Limit: 12

Members: $75; Not-Yet-Members: $90

Cancellation Policy: A $50 non-refundable registration fee is included in the registration. We do not issue refunds to workshops missed by the student.

In the event of inclement weather and a workshop must be cancelled, an e-mail message will be sent. (To check if the Museum is closed, call the main Museum line 781.259.8355 for a recorded message, check the Museum website for a posting, or watch Channels 5 or 7 for closure listings.)

This program is part of a series of glass and mosaic evening workshops offered this fall. Sign up for one or all three!

About the Instructor

Emily Bhargava is an artist and community organizer who has been teaching and leading community art projects for more than 20 years. As a stained glass artist, mosaic artist, muralist, and a facilitator, Emily often works on the border between art and public health, using art to share health information, to increase community capacity and collaboration, and to increase engagement in building healthy communities. Glass is her preferred medium, as it has the potential to transform spaces and change as the light changes.
