Event description
We cordially invite you and a guest to attend the 2019 Guild General Meeting - Giving Together.

About this Event

This celebration of Johns Hopkins All Children's Foundation Guild includes the completion of the Nursing Excellence pledge and the recognition of the Maggie Award. We will plan for our future, have an interactive engagement with our physicians and nurses, and Guild members will have the opportunity to vote for the new Guild fundraising priority. Every vote counts.

5:30 p.m. Social

6:30 p.m. Dinner & Program

Attire: Business Casual

As we give together, we will engage together. Tables and seating will be prearranged to reflect the full breadth of our nine branches. We encourage you to use this time to update and share news from your branch with other members.

Whether you RSVP "Yes" or "No," you have the ability to VOTE for the the new pledge!

VOTING for new Guild Pledge:

If you RSVP "No," you can cast your vote through the Eventbrite RSVP, or through the vote return card that will arrive in the mail with your invite to the event (only one vote counts).

If you RSVP "Yes" and attend the event, you will interact with physicians and nurses as they present three proposals for the new Guild pledge. Voting will immediately follow the presentations and results will stream live on the big screen! Voting will be done on your cell phone! To prepare you to vote, please find descriptions of the three proposals below:

1. Brain & Spinal Cord Tumors

$1,000,000 over two years to support brain and spinal cord tumors at Johns Hopkins All Children's will allow us to continue to grow this complex program for our children and families.

George I. Jallo, M.D.

Director, Institute for Brain Protection Sciences

2. Cancer and Blood Disorders Institute (CBDI) Immunotherapy Clinical Trials

$1,000,000 will enable Immunotherapy clinical trials for pediatric cancer patients who suffer from devastating relapses. Immunotherapy - the manipulation of the body's immune system to fight disease-offers children in our region another chance at a cure when conventional therapies have failed. Your investment would make us the only pediatric academic health system in Florida with the funding and research capabilities to offer these therapies.

Peter H. Shaw, M.D.

Deputy Director, Cancer & Blood Disorders Institute

Jonathan Metts, M.D.

3. The Center for Behavioral Healthy (Sciences) Expansion

$1,000,000 to support comprehensive mental health prevention, early intervention, community mental health initiatives, training and education of the workforce and specialized care for children and families in our 17-county region and across the state of Florida. We hope you consider a gift to support the future of all children.

Jennifer M.Katzenstein, Ph.D.

Director, Pschology & Neuropsychology

Unable to attend Guild General Meeting - Giving Together, pre-meeting voting is available through this site to non-attending members ONLY. Be sure to cast your vote before Friday, April 19, 2019.
