Event description

Any collaboration requires communication. The more open we are to give and receive feedback, the more we can learn and evolve as individuals, as teams and as organizations.

We all agree feedback is useful. But most of us shy away from it. We find receiving feedback uncomfortable, and therefore we also assume that receiving our feedback must be painful for others. So we hold back, and our useful and well-intentioned input is lost. We are often asked in our classes and workshops how one actually tells a team member what is going on for us. The nuts and bolts of real feedback!

We do not have good role models for giving constructive feedback. Feedback often comes packages that make it too hard to take in. So, how CAN we tell others what we observe while being helpful? How can I improve my team's style without driving people away? How can I gracefully accept positive and negative feedback as a gift, and see the care in the person giving me that feedback?

This webinar will have two parts. First Jerry Koch-Gonzalez, certified NVC (Non-violence communication) trainer and sociocratic expert will talk to the importance of feedback for learning organizations. Then Gina Simm (who is about to publish a book on non-violent communication tools in the classroom and for families) will walk us through very doable and specific ways of giving feedback, with all the pointers you need to make it successful. You will walk away with a printable feedback form that you can use or modify for your own use.

Our guess is: after this webinar you will go on a campaign with yourself. You will see hundred opportunities a day to give feedback, and you will dare to do it. You will invite those around you for their feedback about your own impact on them.

This is a the beginning of a journey!
