Event description

Description

I grew up poor in Maine so I know the value of summer camp; be it from the local rec deptment, boy scouts or YMCA. Growing up, others helped me to enjoy that experience and life lessons when my parents couldn't afford it. Now its my turn to help some low income kids go to camp this summer but I need your help. Please.

I was contacted by the Portsmouth (NH) Police Department and officer TJ Potter. TJ has identified 5 boys in Portsmouth who are "at a crossroads". These are good kids who need to be shown there is a different path. He has worked with the YMCA and for $800 each (down from $1600), we can send these boys to a 2 week residential summer camp where they will learn and experience all those things that you and I love about NH.

We are all busy so I'm hosting a STAY HOME lemonade social. On 21 July 2018 at 7pm, grab a friend, some lemonade, find a comfy chair, go outside and know that you are giving 5 young children in NH a potentially life changing opportunity. "Tickets" for the stay home social are $20 each. I'm trying to cast a wide net and if we all help, just a little, we can help the Portsmouth Police Department and these boys.

Contact me with any questions and/or if you would like to donate directly and not through this site. Thank you for your help and support as I try to raise $4000. Matt Mayberry
