Event description

Description

Getting hired in tech for folks who do not look like the common media depiction of a "hacker" can be an even more intimidating challenge than learning to code.

As we celebrate Women in History month Twilio is delighted to be teaming up with:
Women Who Code Seattle,
She Codes Now,
Latinos in Tech,
Write Speak Code Seattle , and
She's Coding

to host this event on strategies underrepresented developers can implement to stack the deck in our favor.

Because if you're a woman or non binary human in tech - You are making history.

Confirmed speakers and mentors include:

There will be lightning talks from local developers on valuable skills and perspectives which may help you succeed in your next job hunt including vital tech skills, resume formatting, finding opportunities, getting hiring managers interested, successfully navigating interviews, and tips for negotiating offers.

Also opportunities for:

  • resume review - bring your draft!
  • practice interviews
  • professional headshots

Local photographer, Sarah Winslow, will be taking professional headshots for folks during the event - we'll have a sign up for at the event for time slots for about 30 headshot sittings!

Dinner, refreshments, and childcare provided.

This is a free event hosted by Twilio in partnership with Women Who Code Seattle, She Codes Now, Latinos in Tech, She's Coding, and Write Speak Code Seattle.

Talks will be captioned by White Coat Captioning.
