GIST TechConnect is a series of interactive videoconferences that brings together great entrepreneurial minds to spark the creation of new technology ventures that address specific societal problems and market opportunities. 

This edition of GIST TechConnect focuses on Raising Capital -- getting the funding you need to grow your business. 



Brad Feld, Foundry Group Managing Director. LinkedIn

Brad has been an investor and entrepreneur for over 20 years. Prior to co-founding Foundry Group, he co-founded Mobius Venture Capital and Intensity Ventures, a company that helped launch and operate software companies and later became a venture affiliate of the predecessor to Mobius Venture Capital. He also directed the diversification into software consulting at AmeriData, a $1.5 billion publicly-traded company, which was acquired by GE Capital in 1995.


Shari Loessberg, Advisory Board Member at Accion USA. LinkedIn

Shari is a seasoned entrepreneur in the US and emerging markets. She has lived five years in Moscow building leading Russian equity house. She also consults on domestic and international startup issues. Her specialties are in emerging market entrepreneurship and investment, US venture capital investment, strategy and negotiation in funding US high-tech startups, domestic and international corporate governance, and Russian capital markets. She teaches a raising early stage capital class at MIT Sloan School of Management.


Hooman Radfar, Founder and Chairman of AddThis. LinkedIn

Hooman is an investor and entrepreneur with demonstrated experience in product development, strategy, operations, financing, and mergers and acquisitions. He is the Founder and Chairman of AddThis, the world’s largest social infrastructure and data platform reaching 1.3 billion unique users monthly. The platform is used by over 14 million web sites to increase traffic and engagement and enables over 500 brands to reach connected audiences around the world in real-time via ad exchanges. Hooman was one of iMedia’s 25 most influential online marketing professionals.


Amir Alexander Hasson, Founder of United Villages. LinkedIn

Amir is an accomplished entrepreneur with expertise in business development, strategy, finance, management, Web technologies, mobile applications, telecom, and distribution. He started 3 companies, raised over $5m from venture investors, and built networks impacting the lives of millions of people in the US, Asia, Africa, and Latin America. He serves as the Chief Development Officer for Oxigen, India’s largest payment solutions provider.

Ovidiu Bujorean, Senior Manager of the GIST Initiative at CRDF Global.   

Ovidiu manages and directs the GIST Initiative at CRDF Global. He is a professional speaker on topics such as professional networking, innovation, entrepreneurship and partnerships building. Previously, he was the Senior Associate at Rudyard Partners, a private equity firm focused on investing in consumer technologies. Ovidiu serves as Chairman of the Board of Advisors of AIESEC DC and Vice-Chairman of MIT  Enterprise Forum of Washington DC. He founded LEADERS, an organization that impacted the lives of approximately 10,000 young leaders and entrepreneurs in Romania and Southern-Eastern Europe and is a graduate of the MIT Sloan School of Management (MBA) and Harvard’s Kennedy School (MPA).
