Event Details

GirlsInTek in collaboration with SRVEF is excited to bring to the SRVUSD community a revolutionary summer enrichment program for incoming 6th, 7th and 8th grade middle school girls. This award winning* program will provide unique exposure to exploring technology in an environment where girls are empowered to learn leadership skills and coding skills and will create a project in one week based on the skills they learn throughout the week. Girls enrolled in this program will be mentored by Aashima Gupta and Madhu Nutakki, the founders of this program who created the curriculum designed specifically for middle school girls. This program was piloted in the spring at Windemere Ranch Middle School and will follow a set defined curriculum outlined below. High School students will also serve as mentors for these girls to give them a small ratio in the classroom. Their goal is to empower girls to take computer classes in middle and high school and remain receptive to STEM education with the goal of choosing a technology or engineering career when they graduate.

Each of the sessions will follow a set defined curriculum
