Event description

Description

Music SA is absoluteley delighted to present Girls To The Front, a two day music workshop for South Australian girls aged 14-18, interested in a career in music performance and music business.

Over the course of two fun filled days within the April School Holidays and National Youth Week, a group of South Australian female music industry mentors (musicians and industry practitioners) will guide 25 young girls through all facets of the industry including live performance, basic home recording techniques, songwriting, music business and understanding music career pathways.

The entire masterclass will take place in the St Paul's Creative centre, with lunch included on both days.

The 25 GTTF participants will break off into five groups of 5 to explore the music business in order to keep groups focussed and intimate.

Live Performance
Using the stage in the St Pauls Training Room, we will explore using a stage and instruments in a very real live music setting. There will be a selection of guitars, drums, amps, keyboards and other instrumentation for exploration and discovery. The aim here is to have fun with instruments in a non-judgemental and comfortable setting and with the support of a local female musican to show you the ropes. Basic information on the equipment will be provided at the beginning of the session, then its up to you to make some noise!
Mentors: Annie Siegmann, MIO
