About this Class:
This class takes place over two days (Saturday, Dec. 10, 1 - 4:30 p.m. AND Sunday, Dec. 11, 1 - 4:30 p.m.) This class is appropiate for girls on the cusp or the beginning of puberty.Typically girls in grades 4, 5, or 6 are at an age when this class is appropriate for them to take.
Girls will learn vital information about puberty, periods, and peer relationship.
Girls Growing Up Strong is an empowerment class that takes a broad look at growing up, relationships, family, self-esteem, good decision-making skills, and the importance of self-love. The class will emphasize universal values like respect for self and others, honesty, trust, and fairness.
- Receive the message that sexuality is a natural, normal, healthy part of life.
- Have an open forum which to discuss femininity, gender, media, and other issues related to growing older.
- Identify healthy characteristics in relationships and discuss ways of dealing with conflict.
- Explore big questions about friendship, love, relationships, and sexuality.
