The Girls in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science club, GEECS, at the University of Michigan aims to promote women in technology and to create a safe, welcoming community.
Join GEECS on Saturday, December 3, 10am-2pm at the Bob and Betty Beyster Building on campus (2260 Hayward St., Ann Arbor, MI 48109) for a day of fun, a panel on college women in technology, and community. GEECS will be hosting an event for high school girls to introduce them to Arduino Microcontrollers and the Processing computer programming environment. In the first session of the program, girls will explore concepts in electrical and computer engineering by experimenting with different combinations of circuits using breadboards and Arduino Microcontrollers. In the second session, girls will explore concepts in computer science by making visual designs in the Processing programming environment. They will gain insights and have opportunities to ask questions from a panelist of students.
Lunch will be provided.
