Event Details

"Girls Can Do Anything!” unites phenomenal females to redefine womanhood and what it means to be a girl! This initiative strives to educate, empower and uplift girls by connecting them to mentors, resources and opportunities that foster healthy lifestyles.

“Girls Can Do Anything!” fosters positive life-long relationships and a spirit of sisterhood among young women and girls. Our purpose is to increase the self-worth, potential and overall well-being of girls largely by elevating their exposure to phenomenal female role models from their own communities and experiences. The program invites a diverse network of women to engage girls in genuine dialogue, teach vital life skills and help navigate the challenges of being a girl by sharing their own personal pitfalls and triumphs. The goal is to create year round opportunities for participants to connect in ways that foster healthy, asset rich girls who are well prepared to achieve their highest level of success throughout school, post-secondary education, career pursuits and their personal lives.

Special guests include female film producers, business moguls, surgeons, judges, law enforcement officers, mechanics, engineers, music producers, community leaders and other phenomenal females whose lives prove that, with the right support, “Girls Can Do Anything!”

Don’t wake up halfway through your high school career only to realize that your college resume lacks extra activities, and demonstration of your leadership skills are nonexistent.

With us you will have opportunities!
Diversity/ Organizational Club
Colleges want students who will be leaders in teaching acceptance in their dorms and classrooms. Creating a club show the willingness take risks by join girls of different back grounds for a common cause (i.e. fun, new experiences), which can sometimes be challenging. Being a club ambassador exhibits initiative, leadership abilities and creative thinking. Bring your special talent or ability to unite others.

Community Service

At most colleges community service on a student resume is a MUST. Many colleges want to see at least 50 hours per year, or about one afternoon a month. Community service shows a sense of social responsibility; character does matter to colleges.

Internships in any field will impress a college, from working in an office setting to shadowing an entrepreneur as he/she beats the streets promoting their brand. Any opportunity that you seek out to learn more about a career is valued by admissions officers. We have connections within the community to assist in making this happen.

Newsletter/ Blog for GCDA

Being published is a powerful asset when you are building a portfolio of accomplishments for colleges. So why not blog for us or write for our newsletter?

Parents, it is the goal of the Girls Can Do Anything committee to create a safe environment where the young ladies feel comfortable to discuss a variety of issues that are impacting our youth. Therefore, particularly, for the 13-18 age group, conversations will likely touch on sensitive matters.  These matters will be handled responsibly by uniquely qualified adult facilitators.
