Are you passionate about pay equity in STEM? Want to learn more about the gender pay gap and increase your financial literacy? Join us at this STEM Bootcamp to participate in group discussions and analyze data to identify contributing factors to the gender pay gap in STEM. We will brainstorm STEM-centered solutions, learn how to apply for a $500 STEM grant, and hear from a panel of women in STEM. This event will be hosted in English with French closed captioning.
Did you know:
- According to the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), less than 30% of the world’s researchers are women, and studies reveal women in STEM are published less, paid less for their research and do not advance as far as men in their careers.*
- Women make up only 29% of the workforce in STEM. The gender gaps are particularly high in some of the fastest-growing and highest-paid jobs of the future, like computer science and engineering.*
Giving girls and women equal opportunities to pursue — and thrive in — STEM careers helps narrow the gender pay gap, enhances girls and women’s economic security and ensures a diverse and talented STEM workforce and prevents biases in these fields and the products and services they produce.*
So what are you waiting for? Register today! This Girl Up STEM for Social Good Bootcamp will run from 12:00 - 2:30 PM EST (New York City Time Zone, USA) in an interactive, virtual format. The event content is mostly geared toward leaders in grades 6-12, ages 13-22.
