About this event
The Girl UNinterrupted Project bridges the gap between young female designers and leaders in architecture, targeting both groups. The project offers a manual to young designers on how to progress their careers and also provides firm leaders with an understanding of young designers’ struggles, offering suggestions on how to tweak office culture to produce an environment of equity and thus maximize talent.
This presentation is a reflection of Girl UNinterrupted's research on design equity in Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, New York, and Washington DC. The presentation will highlight gaps in the design profession when it comes to young designers and negotiation, career growth, and work-life balance as well as resolutions on what can be done to minimize that gap.
A panel discussion will follow with women in the architectural community from a variety of experiences, backgrounds, and roles to discuss struggles they have faced, issues today, and how we can work together to create more equitable environments.
