Event description
UnderCover Presents: Girl Swallows Nightingale (Album Release) with No Lovely Thing & COLORQUEEN

About this Event

UnderCover is proud to present an immersive night of Bay Area arts at its finest! Enter our transformative world of ghostly tales, memory fireflies, all imbued with gauzy soundscapes. A multi-disciplinary experience involving local live music, projections, theater, interactive sculpture, fine art, and memory reaping. Yes. We said memory reaping.

GIRL SWALLOWS NIGHTINGALE

These bones carry stories and we reap them through song.

GSN delivers big, ambitious sound. The Oakland-based experimental pop/rock band crafts intricate song structures buoyed by infectious funk grooves and heady harmonies. Storytelling and performance are also central to their music; the band thrives where sensory planes intersect.

Girl Swallows Nightingale's debut album, Shapeshifter, breathes life into a world of ghostly tales and memory fireflies. Imbued with gauzy soundscapes, highly technical arrangements, and a rich narrative nestled in the realm of fantasy and science fiction, each track conjures a cinematic experience. Shapeshifter will be released in conjunction with a series of short films and editorial photos, each work a window into the album's universe and the mythic characters who roam there. Step into our world. A place of the delightfully strange.
