What is Girl Power Hour?
Girl Power Hour builds community for women with networking events, but, it’s more than that. It’s a place to break out of comfort zones, it’s a place to be yourself and it’s a place to genuinely connect with others beyond the events in ways that can be life changing. It’s a sisterhood. We know it’s not always easy to do something different. It can be scary or intimidating to walk up to a stranger and say hello. Especially if you’re new in town, it’s your first event or, if you’re attending by yourself. This is why we’re here! To help break down those barriers by carving out dedicated time from our busy schedules to provide the space needed to slip on your sparkly heels and get together to laugh, listen and share our own personal stories and resources with one other.
Our philosophy is that you get out of it what you put in, and more often than not, it’s about giving rather than receiving. Our founder always says, “Everyone knows someone you want to know, you just don’t know it yet,” and we know this is true, because we’ve met hundreds of amazing women along the way, many of whom have shared their own inspiring stories of meeting best friends, being offered jobs or extending jobs offers to women they’ve met at events. We’ve heard of women finding their next business partner or travelling buddy, of connecting with other like-minded ladies to form mastermind groups, growing their businesses, having coffee dates or hitting the town for happy hours and other social events. We’ve even heard about a woman who met members of her bridal party at a Girl Power Hour event!
The thing is, you never know who you’ll met at a GPH event or how they may impact your life. Which is exactly why we ask that you come with no judgements, only open minds and kind hearts. We hope you’ll step outside of your comfort zone and join us for an upcoming event as a friend, as a guest, as the host one of your own events or even as the leader of your own chapter. We look forward to partnering with all of you to see how we can impact each other and our communities with our collective passion, our insight, our creativity, our badassary and our bravery, to make a difference in our own worlds and in the world around us. Each one of you is a “special guest,” a star in your own right. And we look forward to seeing you shine. Let’s rally the troops and get this party started! #PowerInNumbers
