Event description

Description

The Giraffe Ambassador Program is a monthly animal science workshop offered by Natural Bridge Wildlife Ranch on the biology and care of giraffes. Participants in this one hour presentation will learn about giraffe biology, feeding habits and habitat.

They will also learn about why giraffes are rapidly vanishing from our planet and what they can do to help. It’s a fun, interactive presentation with video elements from giraffe researchers who are working in Africa today. Each participant receives a field journal, t-shirt and certificate as well as an opportunity to interact with “Buddy” (aka Nakato), one of the Wildlife Ranch’s giraffes up-close.

Buddy became a celebrity when he and his sister, Wasswa were born in May 2013 at the Ranch. They are the only living set of giraffe twins in North America and only the 9th set born in the world. Your participation in this program helps wild giraffes directly! We’ll tell you how a portion of the proceeds of each registration funds the work of Dr. Francois Deacon, one of only 5 giraffe researchers in the world.

Space is limited to 30 participants. Admission to Natural Bridge Wildlife Ranch is not included, but required for entry. The Giraffe Ambassador Program is an indoor program and is held rain or shine. We welcome adults and children of all ages, but it is best suited for children 6 and older.
