Description

Tickets available Monday, October 29th at 9 am.

Did you miss our first Giller Gala in 2017? Don’t make the same mistake this year.

It was so much fun, we’re making it an annual party.

We asked some of our favourite, thought-provoking Tweeters to join us, and they said yes! Arrive on the red carpet, have a drink, vote for your favourite book, and take part in an evening of discussion about this year’s Giller shortlist. Each guest will defend one title, then we’ll watch the Giller Gala live on the big screen and announce the people’s choice winner.

Hosted by: @idontlikemunday

Evan Munday is the illustrator of the novels Stripmalling and DOOM: Love Poems for Supervillains, as well as the self-published comic book, Quarter-Life Crisis. He also wrote a Silver Birch-nominated series of novels for young adults, The Dead Kid Detective Agency. He worked for eight years as a book publicist for Coach House Books, and now does a variety of work including ebook conversion, illustration, and bookselling.

Last year's winning defender: @annetdonahue

Anne T. Donahue is a writer and originally from Cambridge, Ontario. Her work has appeared on The Guardian, Globe & Mail, Esquire, Playboy, and Flare. Her first book, Nobody Cares, comes out September 2018 with ECW Press. She writes a weekly letter called That's What She Said that you should absolutely subscribe to.
