Gilbert Municipal Court All Day Court Conference

The Gilbert Municipal Court welcomes court employees to participate in a full day (or half day) of training, education and networking. This is a FREE COJET opportunity scheduled for February 27th from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. All classes offer practical tools for working within the court environment as well as an opportunity to further your education within the judicial branch.

Morning Session:

9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. - 'Power & Persuasion'

Trainers: Michelle Dunivan

When organizations look at employee and customer feedback, one area of improvement always comes up: communication. That's not because humans are fundamentally bad communicators, but because communication is part of everything we do- everything we do well, and everything we do poorly. This training will take a look at two communication phenomena, power and persuasion, and show how they are also a part of everything we do. By learning about others' use of power and persuasion, as well as our own, participants will learn how to responsibly wield their power and engage persuasive techniques to competently communicate, and thus effectively lead.

11:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. - Lunch on your own

Afternoon session:

1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. - 'The Impact of Relationships'

Trainer: Shawn Haught

Your ability to form, develop and preserve genuine relationships in the workplace is the most valuable skill you will ever bring to your team. Do you work for a boss or leader? There is a difference. Relationships can make or break a department or the entire organization. You know your court’s brand, but what is your court’s talent brand? Attendees will learn about the role of genuine workplace relationships, and how the absence thereof can incapacitate a department and personal development.
