Description

The Impact Hub Holiday Market is back! This time in a new Gifts that do Good edition.holidaymarket-3

What does that mean? That this year, alongside a roster of local, sustainable and ethical businesses we love we will be mixing in fun workshops, games and other opportunities to give – like donating to charity.

Gifts that do Good will make your Holiday shopping not only fun, but meaningful. We’re sending out a positive holiday message to remind ourselves of our individual impact and to be mindful of people and issues that are in need of our support.

Who will you find there?

Animal Justice & Faunapparel: supporting animal rights and selling funky compassionate t-shirts

Evidence for Democracy: supporting science-based policy decision making (and your chance to purchase nerdy-cool swag!)

Nu Grocery: Ottawa’s first zero waste grocery store selling a selection of zero waste products

13 a Social Enterprise: the best muesli in town that also supports youth leadership and entrepreneurship

Corala Cashmere: premium quality handwoven cashmere shawls, scarves and hats supporting local communities in Nepal.

Eepmon: t-shirts don’t get cooler than those created by digital artisan Eric Chan aka Eepmon

Mom Friends: rockin’ post partum care kits to make sure new mothers have all their needs covered

Uptown Sox: No more boring socks thanks to this funky local Ottawa business!

Little Voice Books: a social enterprise that educates children by creating awareness for causes and initiatives through the power of literature and illustration.

Lost Ottawa's David McGee will be selling Lost Ottawa the book, a compendium of the most popular posts ever put up on the Lost Ottawa Facebook page along with the often hillarious, always memorable comments and conversations that followed.

Adorit Boutique : Sustainable Canadian Designs, as well as Fair Trade products from India, Tibet and Nepal.

Workshops & Fun:

Chakra-Scents: learn how to make your own chakra-scents bath salts (go home with two jars!). Cost: $40

Happiness Habits: workshops on homemade truffles and Christmas Card colouring fun. Cost: Free

Envirocentre: workshop on how to keep cycling through the winter! Cost: Free

So come along, let’s enjoy some festive cheer. And yes, there will be hot chocolate, popcorn and lots of chances to win amazing prizes donated by our fabulous vendors and charities!
