Please join us as we put a twist on Giant Steps this year to honor and explore the impact of Minnesota's most famous "creative entrepreneur + entrepreneurial creative", Prince. We'll be celebrating and exploring the “Ripple Effects” of the Purple Reign.
We'll look at how he's impacted our creative + business community (in Minnesota and beyond)--and how we might be motivated and influenced by his legacy while creating our own.
At Giant Steps 2016, we'll encourage you to learn from each other and from Prince's example, by:
- Sharing thoughts on how we push ourselves, our teams, and the envelope
- Discussing how supporting others doing interesting work fits into your work
- Questioning traditional business models
- Re-writing the rules about who can do what and what a team should look like
- Looking at how we can strive to be amazing at what we do, while also lifting up our community.
Most importantly, we'll use our time at Giant Steps 2016 to inspire each other to pursue our work in a way that we are unapologetically, unabashedly ourselves.
Several path-forgers in our Giant Steps family—artists, entrepreneurs, and journalists--have worked directly with Prince. We’ll be hosting them, plus new fam who've also worked with and been influenced by Prince. You'll hear folks from different generations and disciplines in Giant Steps' trademark conversations: honest, heartfelt, and insightful talks about how these artists + entrepreneurs have pursued their work and their passions, and what they've learned along the way.
We'll also still have practical workshops, one-on-one "truth teller" sessions, a panel with creatives from around the world, and other activities to connect you with creative pathforgers and kindred spirits across all disciplines and demographics. Plus a Happy Hour immediately following the event for more conversations and connections. Stay tuned for more details.
We hope that you'll join us at Giant Steps 2016. You don't have to be a Prince fan to participate and benefit, but if you are a fan, you won't want to miss this unique learning + connecting opportunity.
