Join us for another captivating evening with Scott Sucher, who worked with The Smithsonian Museum & National Geographic on The Geneology of the Hope Diamond. Learn more about the history and evolution of diamond cutting as famous diamond replicator Scott Sucher describes diamond history, the effects of global trade and technological advancements on diamond cutting, the use of cleaving, and the development of optics. The journey starts around 1000 B.C. with the first recorded industrial use of diamond and continues through the early 20thC. Computer models of different diamonds cuts and their development are discussed together with side discussions of some famous historical diamonds. Forty famous diamond replicas will be displayed along with 14 selected historical diamond cuts, all created from cubic zirconia!
