Event description

Description

Getting to the Goal takes place every two years with the objective of making Michigan a No Kill state where no healthy or treatable animal is killed in Michigan shelters. The conference is designed for staff and volunteers from animal shelters, rescue organizations, advocacy groups, policy makers, veterinarians, vet techs, educators, students, and compassionate community members. New this year, shelter leaders from Michigan, Ohio, Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin and West Virginia will attend the Best Friends Midwest Regional Leadership Summit to be held in conjunction with the conference.

This year’s conference will be even more exciting and far-reaching than ever before thanks to strategic partnerships with Best Friends Animal Society who is providing track speakers and Fear Free who is also providing track speakers, as well as keynote speaker “America’s Veterinarian” Dr. Marty Becker, a popular contributor to “Good Morning America” and resident veterinarian on “The Dr. Oz Show.” At the conference, Dr. Becker will unveil to the nation the Fear Free for Shelters Program.

Sponsorship and exhibitor opportunities are available.
