Getting Started With Honey Bees

Don’t worry, N.C. Cooperative Extension Currituck Center has the class for you! Starting on April 19th, from 6:00-7:30 at the Currituck Extension Center, we’ll cover the basics of how to get started with beekeeping, what equipment you’ll need, what a year in the life of a beekeeper is like, and how to get your first jar of honey. This free, four-part series, will be held every Tuesday from 6:00-7:30 until May 10th. In addition to these hands-on classes, we’ll offer workdays to demonstrate key beekeeping practices throughout the year. A more detailed schedule can be found below.

Registration is only required once, but attendance is expected at all four classes. Make sure to include your cell phone number to receive text reminders before each week’s class, and notifications for workdays where you can participate in hands-on demonstrations to reinforce materials covered in class.
