Event description

Description

Want to learn Python? What about learning the easiest way to learn to code using a microcontroller?

CircuitPython is a programming language designed to simplify experimenting and learning to code on low-cost microcontroller boards. CircuitPython adds hardware support to the core Python language. If you already have Python knowledge, you can easily apply that to using CircuitPython. If you have no previous experience, it's really simple to get started! Learning CircuitPython is learning Python. We're going to be using the Adafruit Circuit Playground Express to explore the basics of Python using CircuitPython.

This class is intended for anyone interested in learning about programming using Python on microcontrollers - from the absolute beginner who has never touched a microcontroller before to someone who uses Python for work/academia. Ticket price includes your very own Circuit Playground Express to take home.

This class is taught by Brent Rubell, an engineer at Adafruit Industries, and hosted by NYC Resistor member Nick Vermeer.

As with all NYC Resistor events, this class is 18+ and governed by our Code of Conduct. The Code of Conduct, as well as accessibility information, can be found at www.nycresistor.com/participate/.

Please note that refunds must be requested 72 hours in advance. If you have any questions, please email classes@nycresistor.com.
