Reinette's Bio:
Reinette Fournier has been a student of various schools of yoga for over 40 years and has been teaching kundalini yoga and meditation since 2005. In 2008, she and her husband, Thomas Speare, opened the Tenth Gate Center for Yoga and Meditation in Portsmouth, RI. Reinette has served as the Center’s Executive Director since that time. In 2016, Reinette founded the Tenth Gate School for Yoga and Energy Healing, which is registered with Yoga Alliance. Then in 2019, she launched “The Nest at Tenth Gate,” a separate building dedicated to youth programming for all ages and all abilities. Over the years, Tenth Gate has developed an international reputation for the caliber of its programming and the master teachers it attracts. Reinette is also a Reiki Master Teacher in the Usui, Holy Fire and Karuna traditions. In addition to teaching kundalini yoga and meditation and directing the Center's programming, she also teaches all levels of Reiki Certification.
Growing up in rural Maine gave Reinette a deep love of nature. She became a wildlife and landscape painter and holds an MFA in Painting from UMass/Dartmouth. She now resides in Portsmouth with her husband Tom and a feisty Boston Terrier named Arlo (who is quite famous in his own right). You may find her walking the beaches of her Common Fence Point home or exploring other nature spots on the island.
