Description

Join US Horse Welfare and Rescue, a 501(C)3 CT based nonprofit, at our 1st "Getting Ahead of The Curve” equine rescuers' summit as a host of equine professionals, equine rescuers and equine advocates discuss the welfare and safety of America’s horses. This group will be working to derive both short term and long term solutions to keeping our horses from abuse and slaughter during this 2 day summit. Join us as we examining the current issues that threaten America’s horses. Discussions will include everything from hay banks, gelding clinics, branding, microchipping, educational components and keeping horses in place to working with trainers/owners of On TrackThoroughbreds, interception of equines prior to auction, effectively working on Legislation in ANY state, passing the SAFE Act, how can a 501(c)3 legally lobby and even the difficult topic of euthanasia for the unwanted horse. If it has to do with keeping America’s horses safe we will discuss it!

Saturday will begin with panel discussions regarding these topics by some of the better known East Coast rescuers, equine veterinarians, state legislators, lobbyists, ASPCA representatives and HSUS representatives to name a few. Moderator will be Diana Urban, well known and respected State of Ct Representative for 9 terms and accomplished animal advocate within the legislator. Come hear Dr. Harry Werner, Equine Veterinarian, President AAEP (2009) and AAEP Distinguished Life Member will also be a major contributor. Many other well known, highly knowledgable people and well seasoned 501(c)3 horse rescuers will be in attendance to contribute.
