The New Parish is proud to present one of the most distinguished and most unclassifiable musicians of our time, me'shell ndegeocello. As an artist me'shell's albums have included aspects of dub, rock, metal, soul, acid jazz, spoken word, hip hop, and good ole funk, this time around me'shell will be honoring one of her greatest influences, PRINCE.

This show will primarily include covers of me'shell's favorite Prince classics, in a not-to-be-missed one of a kind performance!

As a singer & bassist, Me'Shell Ndegeocello has always opted to concentrate subsequently on more challenging material than your typical musician. By exploring the politics of race and sex, among other topics, she has created a sound which is like no other.

As a teenager, Ndegeocello began to play regularly in the clubs of Washington, D.C., but eventually settled down in New York City after a stint of studying music at Howard University. After auditioning for several local bands (one being Living Colour), Ndegeocello struck out on her own (often performing solo, with just a bass, drum machine, and keyboard) and in the early '90s became one of the first female artists signed to Madonna's Maverick label.

Multiple albums later, meshell is still pushing every boundary possible in music.
