Description

Eager to keep hiking over the winter but worried that you need a little extra incentive to get out on those especiually chilly days? Our GetHiking! program for Experienced Hikers is perfect for you. We meet every Sunday afternoon from January 6 to February 24 and hike from 4 to 8.4 miles. We hike at a variety of locations around the Triangle, just to keep it interesting. You'll stay in hiking shape over the winter — and experience the unique joys of the winter hiking season as well. When spring rolls around, you'll be up for those longer mountain hikes that we all live for. In addition, you'll receive a guide to 25 places to hike in the Triangle, tip sheets and a weekely enewsletter detailing that week's hike and including additional tips, resources and gear recommendations.

Here's our schedule:

Jan. 6 Eno River State Park, Durham: 4.2 miles

Jan. 13Little River Regional Park, Durham/Orange county line: 5 miles

Jan. 20 Horton Grove Nature Preserve, northern Durham County: 5.5 miles
