Champions for Coverage Orientation
San Antonio students and faculty of higher education have a unique opportunity on September 28, 2013 to attend an orientation from Teresa Nino, Director of the Office of Public Engagement at the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), on how to become a "Champion for Coverage" for the Affordable Care Act (ACA). Immediately following will be a presentation by Dr. Thomas Schlenker, Director of the San Antonio Metropolitan Health District, on who in Bexar County is eligible for the new coverage and how to reach them. Finally, volunteers will be organized into teams to implement Champions for Coverage community service learning (CSL) activities in the community.
Lunch will be provided.
