About this event
Whether it’s cutting down on costs or lowering their environmental footprint, there are many reasons more and more organizations are choosing to go solar. Many companies and organizations save thousands to millions of dollars in energy costs over the life of their solar systems while reducing their environmental footprint at the same time.
G.E.T. Solar Communities: Meadville is partnering with nonprofit Pennsylvania Solar Center to host a free informational meeting to businesses and nonprofits who want to learn more about going solar and how it can save them money. The program will also explore various grant and business partnerships that can make solar for nonprofits feasible with little to no money down.
The meeting will provide an overview of solar energy and offer creative ways businesses and nonprofits can reap the benefits of solar energy. Attendees can expect to learn more about the following:
- Tax credits
- Grant programs
- C-PACE (Property Assessed Clean Energy)
- Technical assistance from the PA Solar Center
- What to look for when selecting a solar developer
The PA Solar Center will even offer a free assessment of your company’s solar potential to those who attend. In addition, the PA Solar Center will be issuing RFPs for interested businesses and nonprofits to get quotes from qualified solar developers to bid on their project. PA Solar Center will review the bids with the organizations and help them make sense so that the decision-making process is simple and easy. Joining together to explore solar can offer discounted pricing when solar developers are bidding on multiple projects in one area.
The Pennsylvania Solar Center is a project of its fiscal sponsor, The New Sun Rising, a 501c3 organization. The Center offers technical assistance to non-profit organizations and businesses to help them go solar, as well as online resources for all solar stakeholders and education to decision makers and advocates about the benefits of robust solar policy. The PA Solar Center also provides an online directory of qualified solar developers, a map of notable solar installations, and listing of solar events happening across the state.
