Event description

Description

Chicago is good at so many things! It just turns out that voting, particularly in non-presidential years, is not one of them. In the last non-presidential primary, less than 18% of registered voters showed up to vote. Democracy works best when people participate, so we want to get more people engaged and out there during early voting and on election day. And to do that, we are going to train local activists, organizers, and anyone interested in civic engagement on how to help get out the vote in their community. We’ll be talking about knocking on doors, phone banks, reaching out to community organizations, passing out fliers, and putting up posters. What do you think would work best in your community?

Our trainers will be coming from Common Cause, an organization that works to empower all people to make their voices heard in the political process.

While this event is free, the good people at Grace Episcopal Church is helping us by donating the space, including set up and clean up. If possible, please bring a $1 or $2 donation that we can then give to the church for all of their help.
