Get It Online: Twitter Chats
“Building connections” is a common catchphrase in social media – but, practically speaking, how does that happen?
Twitter Chats have become a popular way for organizations to bring people together online. At this month's "Get It Online" lunch discussion, learn about the National Trust for Historic Preservation's monthly preservation-focused chat on Twitter. Started in 2011, the #builtheritage chat draws passionate place-savers from around the world. This session will provide an overview of the origins of the chat, how it has helped us build connections both on and offline, lessons learned, and - of course! - tips on how to start and promote your own Twitter chat.
Sarah Heffern is the associate director for social media strategy at the National Trust for Historic Preservation.
