Get Georgia Reading Metro Learning Event
Thu, April 20, 2017, 9:00 AM – 3:30 PM EDT
The Get Georgia Reading Campaign and the United Way of Greater Atlanta invite you and your partners to join communities across the state in taking action on a shared expectation: that all Georgia’s children are on a path to reading proficiency by the end of third grade. Building on the success of the Community Action Summit, the Campaign is hosting a series of learning events to engage community and education leaders in this growing movement.
The Campaign will host up to eight interdisciplinary teams of people who influence children ages birth to eight and their families for a daylong working session. Community teams will receive county-specific data on indicators related to third grade reading, listen to speakers illuminate the Campaign’s common agenda and take deeper dives into the four pillar framework, and participate in facilitated planning activities to begin developing a local strategy. You will leave with concrete steps for action in your community, and invited communities will have an opportunity to build plans for potential seed funding.
This is an invitation-only event with limited seating. You must have a complete team in order to attend.
This event is sponsored by the United Way of Greater Atlanta.
