Description

Join us on March 7 as we gather as a community of engaged leaders for a day of education, inspiration, and action. We will hear from local and regional experts who will provide context around the four pillars of the Get Georgia Reading Campaign. Confirmed speakers include:

  • Dr. Grant Rivera, Superintendent of Marietta City Schools

  • Arianne Weldon, Director of the Get Georgia Reading Campaign

  • Dr. Avril Beckford, Chief Pediatric Officer for WellStar Health System

  • Dr. Garry McGiboney, Deputy Superintendent of Policy and External Affairs, Georgia Department of Education

  • Judge Amber Patterson, Cobb County Juvenile Court Judge

  • Emily Rubin, Director at the Marcus Autism Center

  • Comer Yates, Executive Director of the Atlanta Speech School

  • Janet Adams, Coordinator, Atlanta-Fulton Family Connection

  • Dr. Hayward Cordy, Director, Oconee Regional Education Service Agency

Participants will also identify ways that we can each play an integral role in developing students into confident and proficient readers! Continental breakfast, registration and networking will begin at 8am and lunch will be served. Questions? Contact Irene Barton at ibarton@cobbcollaborative.org
