Overview:
Looking to raise money for your business, creative project or social enterprise? Crowdfunding (aka using the internet to fund a project through small contributions) has forever changed the way creators and entrepreneurs can raise money for their endeavors. Using a combination of engaging presentations, audience participation and hands-on exercises, this workshop will demystify the evolving landscape of crowdfunding in the wake of the 2012 JOBS Act, reveal the costs and advantages of portals like Kickstarter and IndieGoGo, and share a toolkit of proven strategies for implementing a successful campaign. Don’t get rowdy, get crowdy!

Student Requirements:
The use of laptops and tablets will be permitted during lecture segments for note-taking purposes. All other electronic devices must remain offline and silenced while the class is in progress.

Instructor Bio:
Jacob Gelfand, JD, MBA is an entrepreneur, workshop facilitator and holistic business coach. After graduating from University of San Francisco’s School of Law and Graduate School of Management in 2012, Jacob founded Inclusiva Strategies to cultivate a new breed of interdisciplinary business coaching aimed at helping creative entrepreneurs develop the skills they need to take their endeavors to the next level. In addition to his coaching and teaching work, Jacob serves as a strategy advisor for Glamping Hub, the premiere reservation portal for unique, outdoor accommodations around the world. He also volunteers for Centro Community Partners as a senior advisor for business students and underserved entrepreneurs. Jacob lives in the Inner Sunset with his wife Joely and their cat Jobs.
