Join Steve Gerhartz (www.stevegerhartz.com) at Cedar Valley and explore the essence of human poses. The human figure has long been a traditional subject for drawings and paintings. Not only is the subject revered for its aesthetic qualities, but it also is a welcome challenge for artists. The ever changing positions and postures of the figure remove the possibilities for formulas and force the artist to focus on pure observational drawing. In this workshop students will be drawing a live model in “twenty minute poses.”
Steve will teach you a very freeing way of drawing and capturing emotions and poses. Students will learn through demonstrations and individual attention.
Steve attended the Lyme Academy in Old Lyme, Connecticut and received the John Stobart Outdoor Painting Fellowship following his training at the Academy. His inspiration comes from the beautiful light quality of the different times of day and changing seasons. Steve is represented by galleries in Door County, Michigan and Milwaukee among others.
Cost for class is $45. (Supply list will be provided at time of registration.)
