A FOCUS ON YOUTH LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT

On April 28-29, 2017, the Georgia NAACP hosts the Second Quarterly Meeting in conjunction with the Let Us Make Man Conference at Savannah State University. The Let Us Make Man Conference (LUMM) was initially convened by former Atlanta City Councilman and radio personality Derrick Boazman, and Attorney Mawuli Davis, Georgia NAACP Criminal Justice Committee Co-Chair to address issues and challenges African American youth face on a daily basis.

This Joint Effort by the Georgia NAACP and the LUMM Conference will feature workshops aimed at Youth Leadership Development ranging from Law & Black Society; Mentoring Conflict Resolution; Making the Modern Family Work:Married, Single and Blended Family Restoration; Recognizing The Genius in Black Youth' What’s Next: College, Career or Trade; Let's Talk: Understanding Mental Health Issues and Solutions in the Black Community; Gangs, Cliques and Crews: The Misguided Spirit of Our Young Warriors; Social Media & Beyond: Tech-Knowledge for Youth Development; The Art of Community Organizing for Social Change​; Developing The Mindset to Own Your Own Business; Motivating Young People to Join "The Movement"; Spiritual Growth & Spiritual Awareness; Healing Oppressive Wounds: The Blacknificent Seven; NAACP Youth and College Advisers Training; and Advanced NAACP Officer Training.
