Please join us to hear Ed Riggin's Humorous but Valuable Presentation: On Negotiation, Seven Tips from a Grizzled Veteran
Whether we are working to resolve a conflict with our spouse, our boss, a customer, a subordinate, or a vendor, pressure-filled negotiating situations provide great opportunities to learn the rules of the road the hard way (or not) and also to learn about ourselves and others (or not). With an eye toward helping you become a better negotiator, the program Ed has created specifically for Georgia Executive Women's Network focuses on these tips:
1. Appeal to interests
2. Ask yourself "compared to what?"
3. Know what you want
4. Remember your constituents
5. Don't demonize
6. Never make it personal
7. Remember to breath
Ed Riggins is a Senior Vice President in the Atlanta office of Cresa, the international Real Estate Advisory firm. Ed's wallet-sized "books", Things I've Learned That Seem to Bear Repeating and Things Someone Should Have Told me in my 20s (Not That I'd Have Listened) have become very popular among his clients and friends, have been used as corporate training aids, and will be incorporated into a university curriculum in 2013.
Ed is among only 800 nationally to have earned both the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors and Certified Commercial Investment Member designations and is consistently among Cresa Atlanta’s highest producers. A graduate of Auburn University, he has also completed Harvard’s Program on Negotiation. He speaks, teaches, writes, mentors, and has performed live standup and improv comedy.
