Event description

Description

This is the official page for GDISC. This year, the Georgetown International Relations Club is hosting its ninth annual Georgetown Diplomacy and International Security Conference for High School students in the fall of 2017 and for University students in spring 2018 at the Georgetown University Main Campus. Last year's conference provided many high school students a chance to connect with university students and prominent professors. We plan to continue last year's success and offer this unique experience to even more students and teachers this upcoming year.

Students attending the conference will be given the opportunity to listen to presentations given by Georgetown professors and students. After these presentations, students will also participate in a short crisis simulation based on the topics of the discussions. Students will also have ample opportunity to talk to current Georgetown students about university life and their transition to college. This year's schedule will feature longer presentations, with a stronger focus on professor interaction.

Ultimately, this Conference is an extension of Georgetown University's core values. GDISC is free, so as to be available to all students, and all high school students are welcome, regardless of foreign affairs or Model United Nations background. We aim not only to draw students interested in international studies, but rather all students interested in learning more about the problems facing our global community.
