Description
Art can be a powerful primary source for historians, teachers, and students. At this Mount Vernon in Arkansas Teacher Institute, we invite participants to take a new look at our first president: through his portrayal in portraits, his interests in his youth, his intellectual pursuits in the arts and sciences. A multi-dimensional figure emerges beyond his memorialized political and military accomplishments. Exploring these topics can expand the methods and relevant content connections between George Washington and your students.
