Due to demand for free training provided by the Department, students will be added to the class first come first served. After that additional students will be wait listed. Once registration is closed the Department reserves the right to establish the pre-class roster. You will be notified weather your enrollment is confirmed, or you are wait listed. Wait listed students will be added to the class in any vacant (no show) seats.
Please plan to arrive and be seated 10 minutes prior to the start of the session. IMPORTANT - Make sure to sign in on-site so you are properly credited for attending! As a courtesy to the other student’s doors will be closed five minutes after scheduled session start time. Silence your cell phone - If you have the need to use your cell phone for calls or texting we ask you leave the class room.
If this session has handouts, they will be posted electronically approximately within one week at the conclusion of the training on the Production Support Office | CADD website. Information will be e-mailed to registrants about where to download any available materials, post training.
Hours of Operation: Our front doors unlock at 7:15am. Non-FDOT employees enter the facility at/after 7:15am.
Vending: There are no vending machines in our lobby. Guests should plan to bring food/snacks if they anticipate a need.
- In case of fire, our alarm is a loud intermittent tone. Attendees are asked to promptly vacate the facility and assemble outside with the District Seven attendee in their group.
- In case of severe weather, our alarm is a loud continuous tone. Attendees are asked to shelter in place, if they are in a room without windows, or quickly move to a space without windows. When the threat has passed, an “All Clear” announcement will be made over the Public Address system noting that we have returned to “business as usual”.
- If emergency response is needed, dial 9-9-1-1 from any telephone. Please then notify the front desk by dialing -0- so that Facilities Management staff can be dispatched to the driveways to direct the ambulance/police.
FAQs Are there ID requirements to enter the event?
Bring your picture ID with you. Attendees will please enter and exit the facility through the main entrance only. Attendees are asked to please check in at the front desk to be logged in. Every attendee will be required to have a name badge. Therefore, every attendee must pre-register. Make certain when you register to spell your name correclty, and input the name of the company you represent. Also, be very careful to input your e-mail address correclly (if we cannot reach you by e-nail your registration may be cancelled). Front doors unlock at 7:15am. What are my parking options getting to the event?
Attendees may park in any unmarked or Visitor parking space near the front entrance of the facility. Please do not park in any space that is marked RESERVED or CARPOOL. Disabled parking is in designated spaces. What can/can't I bring to the event? We ask no food or drink inside the class rooms.
Will I need to “sign in” to the training?
The instructors will have a roster printed from this registration system. Upon entry to the training, please check in and make sure we know you are present by signing in. This way we can count you as “present,” and not as a “No Show.” This will also help us keep in touch with you with subsequent information about this training, including any post class materials.
What is the decorum in class?
Please silence your cell phones inside the auditorium/classroom. We ask that you leave the room to text or answer your cell phone. Please no talking while the instructor is presenting. Talking out of context of the training distracts both the instructor and interferes with others in class trying to listen and learn. If your behavior becomes disruptive you will be asked to leave the room.
What will the temperature be like in class?
Come prepared in case you find the classroom too cold or too warm for your liking. The instructors will not have the ability to make adjustments to temperature. We suggest you dress in layers just in case.
What kind of audio / visual experience can I expect? And is seating assigned?
No, seating is first come, first served. For best hearing and viewing, we suggest you sit as close to the instructor and display screen as possible. As for the quality of the audio / visuals, we’re at the mercy of the equipment at the facility.
Will I get a chance to evaluate the training afterward?
Yes! A web page (Survey Monkey) will be posted during the session for you to provide your evaluation and feedback afterward for both the course content and your experience with the course. We would also like to hear how we can improve to make your experience better the next time!
Will the session be recorded?
We want to encourage in-person attendance, and logistics will determine if we will be able to record the sessions or not.
Will Professional Develop Hours (PDHs) or Continuing Education Credits (CEUs) be provided for attending this training?
Currently we do not plan to offer PDHs or CEUs. The training is FREE.
Is my registration/ticket transferrable? Since registration is free, alternate attendees should register themselves so that we have an accurate roster for the training event. Can I update my registration information? Yes.
Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event? Please bring your ticket. District security and access contract policy may require that you have your ticket in your possession.
The name on the registration/ticket doesn't match the attendee. Is that okay? Please make sure your ticket matches the student (you).
