Geographic Information Systems - A Cloud-Based Geospatial Platform enabling individuals to create and share MAPS, APPS, and MAP Services
200 Inquiry-Based Lesson Plans in grades 3-12 Math, Science, Social Science, English, Coding & Computer Science
The Greater New Orleans STEM Initiative and the Global Geospatial Institute are partnering together to bring this Geographic Information Systems workshop to educators. This two-day workshop and follow-up classroom support are designed to train educators in cutting-edge technology for STEM project-based learning to engage their students inside and outside of the classroom.
Educators Will:
- Learn to tap into your students' spatial reasoning to strengthen their problem-solving skills
- Obtain lesson plans and exercises that enrich your current curriculum
- Leave with new project-based teaching, cross curricula tools that have wide applications
Students Will:
- Learn to become active and engaged in their own learning
- Develop spatial and geographical reasoning
- Learn to identify and analyze issues impacting their local communities

at the University of New Orleans
Stipends available for teachers; $100 per day
Space is limited; please reserve your spot as soon as possible, by registering. The registration fee of $25 is refundable post workshop. We will create a wait list once the class has been filled.
