Description

Do you want to walk on a giant map of the world? Do you want to take virtual field trips to exotic places, learn about rockets, or build a story map tour? Do you want to learn about different places in the world while hearing from leaders in education and literacy at National Geographic, the CA Geo Alliance, Esri, and Google? GeoDay is a unique educational event for youth and their families living in San Jose and the surrounding neighborhood. In this 3-hour after school event, you can further your educational and career goals by learning about the wonders and opportunities that our world has to offer, including the global challenges that you can help overcome. In addition, you can participate in a myriad of fun workshops: take Google Cardboard-based virtual field trips, learn about and build your own rocket, learn about mapping technologies and create story map tours, expand your worldview by walking on a giant map of the world, and build career skills and awareness. All admission is completely free, and snacks will be provided at the event. Youth (ages 6 and up), teenagers (ages 13-17), and adults (ages 18 and up) are welcome. Please RSVP on this website by requesting your Official GeoDay Ticket.
