Event description

Description

This event is free and open to the public. The building has a capacity of 125 persons, so we need to have everyone register so we can cap the event. Thank you for understanding!

Gentrification has been the cause of painful conflict in many American cities. This 3-hour session tells the story of Philadelphia neighborhoods and the removal of historically oppressed communities, from the early 20th century until present times. We will explore examples of community solidarity as it relates to urban resistance and identify solutions to this collective problem.

Presenters: Michaela Pommells & Kai Chandler, Corajus

This event is made possible by People’s Emergency Center through the support of ArtPlace America.
