Event description
Gentlemen of Kizomba is a workshop for all leads to get training on two main topics: Social Dance Etiquette and Improving your lead

About this Event

To understand what it means to be a Gentleman or Madame of Kizomba, first I need to teach you what it means to be a Gentleman or Madame. The concept is based on Chinese philosophy, referring to a person who embodies a set of principles of conduct in order to interact harmoniously with the people in their environment. The concept is an idea that refers to an ideal human, that behaves ethically and with a foundation of respect. We will take these concepts and apply them on the dance floor for Kizomba and Urban Kiz dancers.

This 2-day 6 hour workshop is created for all leads and will cover:

Dance Coaching:

- Lead Coaching

- Lead Empowerment

- Lead Footwork/Styling

- Kizomba

- Urban Kiz

- Social Dance

Gentlemen & Madame Coaching:

- Respect

- Awareness

- Humility

- Chivalry

- Courtship

- Gratitude

- Presence

- Courage

This workshop will not only improve your social dancing, but also ensure that you are a well respected member of the dance community. After trainees complete the workshop, you will have a graduation which will allow you to join our family to continue your training through shared experiences with other graduates. Come join us as we teach you how to conduct yourself positively on the dance floor with the mentality of a Gentleman or a Madame.

Note: If you prefer not to identify as either a Gentlemen or a Madame, "Lead of Kizomba" will be printed on your graduation diploma.
